Welcome to the ALS community! As I celebrate my 19th year at ALS, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared. Our school is not just an educational institution; it is a vibrant community where positive relationships flourish, and kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Each day, I am inspired by our dedicated staff, supportive families, and, most importantly, our amazing students. Together, we cultivate an environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. Our commitment to fostering a positive school culture ensures that students not only excel academically but also develop the essential social and emotional skills needed to thrive in today’s world.

At ALS, we embrace the International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile, which encourages our students to become knowledgeable, caring, open-minded individuals who contribute positively to society. Our curriculum is designed to promote inquiry-based learning, allowing students to explore their interests and ideas while engaging with global issues. We believe that a well-rounded education must honor our local culture and identity, particularly the rich traditions of Saudi Arabia and Islamic heritage. By integrating these values into our teaching, we help students appreciate their roots while preparing them to navigate and contribute to an interconnected world. This balance between global education and local identity is a cornerstone of our philosophy, ensuring that our students grow into compassionate and informed global citizens.

As we continue to build a close-knit community, I encourage every family to engage actively in school life. Your involvement is vital to our success and enriches the educational experience for all students. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or participating in discussions, your contributions help create a supportive atmosphere that nurtures learning and growth. At ALS, we are more than just a school; we are a family. Together, let us continue to uphold the values of kindness, respect, and compassion, ensuring that our students thrive academically and personally. Thank you for being an integral part of our community, and I look forward to another wonderful year ahead at ALS!

Our school is more than just a place of learning—it is a dynamic and nurturing community where relationships flourish, and kindness is at the heart of everything we do. One of our greatest strengths as a school is the collaboration between students, parents, and teachers. Your involvement — whether through attending events or simply connecting with fellow families and educators — plays a vital role in shaping the student experience. At ALS, we provide enriching and meaningful learning experiences that inspire growth, creativity, and leadership. Dear Parents and Students,

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Boy’s section of the Advanced Learning schools (ALS).

ALS is an IB World School that aims to prepare global citizens to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world, while honoring their own cultural heritage and identity.

Our team of professional and highly experienced teachers and staff work alongside to ensure we are providing a safe and caring environment for our students to excel and thrive.

The school programs are designed to balance academic excellence and develop students’ life skills and enrich their experiences, while instilling in them Islamic values and pride in their Saudi culture and heritage.

We strongly believe in the potential that lies within the young generation, therefore, our approach involves empowering students to take the lead in initiatives within the school and the local community. This serves as a cornerstone in the development of future leaders who are creative, compassionate and analytical thinkers.

We at ALS value the collaboration between home and school, it has been proven through research that home-school collaboration is a key factor in the success of students and we encourage parents to be involved in their children’s education and take part in school events and activities.

I hope you find the information in this website useful, and if you have any questions that are not addressed, please feel free to contact us or schedule an appointment.

IB PYP Framework

The IB Learner

Profile at ALS

Developing Well-Rounded Global Citizens

At Advanced Learning Schools (ALS), the IB Learner Profile is at the heart of our educational philosophy. As an IB Continuum School, we are committed to fostering well-rounded individuals who exemplify the ten attributes of the IB Learner Profile, preparing them to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world with confidence, integrity, and compassion.

These attributes guide our students in their academic, personal, and social development, ensuring that they emerge as thoughtful, principled, and action-oriented leaders in their communities and beyond.

How the IB Learner Profile Comes to Life at ALS

At ALS, we cultivate curiosity and a lifelong love for learning. Our students engage in inquiry-driven projects, research-based assessments, and experiential learning, where they explore meaningful real-world problems. Whether investigating environmental sustainability, designing innovative solutions in STEM, or leading service initiatives, our students ask critical questions and seek deep understanding.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure that students develop expertise across a wide range of disciplines, connecting their learning to local and global contexts. Through the IB’s transdisciplinary approach, ALS students engage in meaningful discussions on topics such as economic development, cultural heritage, technological advancements, and ethical decision-making.

Critical thinking is embedded in all aspects of learning at ALS. Whether analyzing literature, conducting scientific experiments, or debating international policies, our students develop the ability to assess information, solve complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.

At ALS, students express themselves clearly and confidently in more than one language. Through our bilingual programs, Model United Nations (MUN), public speaking opportunities, and collaborative projects, we nurture effective communicators who can articulate ideas, listen actively, and engage in constructive dialogue.

Integrity and ethical responsibility are key components of an ALS education. Our students demonstrate honesty, fairness, and a strong sense of justice in their academic work and daily interactions. Through service-learning projects and leadership opportunities, they learn to make ethical choices and take responsibility for their actions.

As an international school with a diverse student body, ALS fosters open-mindedness by encouraging students to appreciate different perspectives, cultures, and beliefs. Our curriculum includes intercultural learning experiences, and our students actively engage in discussions about global issues, preparing them to thrive in a multicultural world.

We encourage our students to step outside their comfort zones, whether by taking on leadership roles, tackling challenging academic tasks, or participating in new extracurricular activities. ALS fosters a culture of resilience and innovation, where students learn to embrace challenges with courage and determination.

The ALS learning experience is holistic, ensuring students develop intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Our co-curricular activities, mindfulness programs, sports, and well-being initiatives help students maintain a healthy balance between academics, personal growth, and physical well-being.

Reflection is a fundamental part of learning at ALS. Students are encouraged to assess their strengths, areas for growth, and learning strategies. Through self-assessment, portfolio development, and mentorship programs, our students develop self-awareness and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The IB Learner Profile in Action

At ALS, we do not just teach the IB Learner Profile—we live it. These attributes are embedded in our curriculum, school culture, and student-led initiatives. They shape how we learn, teach, and engage with our community.

Our graduates leave ALS not only academically prepared for the world’s top universities but also as compassionate, globally-minded, and socially responsible individuals committed to making a positive impact.

Grade 5

Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition is a pivotal moment in a student’s journey, marking the end of their PYP experience in Grade 5. It’s a celebration of their growth, where they showcase the skills, knowledge, and understanding gained throughout their years in the program.

Students engage in a collaborative inquiry into real-world issues that matter to them, using research, interviews, and firsthand experiences to explore solutions. Guided by mentors, they take responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting their findings to a wider audience, including parents and community members.

More than an academic achievement, the PYP Exhibition is a powerful reflection of personal growth, critical thinking, and the ability to make a positive impact on the world. It’s a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and the transformative power of learning.

Assessment

At ALS, assessments focus on continuous growth, not just exams. Formative assessments offer regular feedback, while summative assessments provide a chance for students to showcase their skills.
